Poetry for everyone

Accessibility

We want The Love.Give.Forgive. Project to be a welcoming space where people with different abilities and access needs can read poetry, enjoy its recitations, and take part in our movement.

Our approach

We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we are continuing to review and improve the site. We have not yet completed a full independent accessibility audit. We would welcome volunteers with relevant expertise to help us complete that audit.

Reading and watching

The written text of each poem is available above its recitation video. You can read it at your own pace or use your device’s text and screen-reader tools. A performance may contain small wording differences from the written poem.

Recitations offer optional subtitles in 16 languages. Use the subtitle control in the video player to choose a language or turn subtitles off. Where browser storage is available, we remember your choice for other recitations. Some translations are generated with AI support and may contain inaccuracies; please let us know if you find an error.

Navigation and movement

You can use a keyboard to move through links and controls. A “Skip to content” link appears when you begin keyboard navigation. We provide descriptions for meaningful artwork and labels for icon buttons.

The moving home-page background and automatic poem browsing have pause controls. They also respect your device’s reduced-motion preference. You can enlarge the site using your browser’s zoom controls.

Help us improve

We welcome suggestions, reports of accessibility barriers, and requests for an alternative way to access our poems or recitations. Please contact us at hello@lovegiveforgive.org.

If helpful, tell us which page or video you were using, what was difficult, and your preferred way for us to help. You do not need to disclose a disability or any medical information.
